Probate & Administration:

Probate – This is the process by which the Court validates the legitimacy of your Will. The cost of going through Probate depends on the size and complexity of your estate.

 

Administration – This is the process by which the Court appoints a Personal Representative for someone who has died without a valid Will. This person may not be who you wanted. Your estate will then be distributed according to legislation, and not according to your wishes. If you leave minor children behind, the Court will appoint a guardian for them, and again, this may not be the person you intended.
